ScreenU Cannabis

The rates of cannabis use among college students has continued to rise over the past decade.  Although still a relatively small percentage, the Monitoring the Future study reports that there are more college students use cannabis daily than those that drink alcohol daily.

Research suggests that cannabis has a negative impact on memory, attention, and learning, so it may be no surprise that students who use cannabis regularly are less likely to graduate than students who do not use cannabis.  Additionally, campuses continue to be challenged to address cannabis use among students, particularly in an environment where the laws around cannabis are ever changing.

ScreenU Cannabis identifies students who are not only at risk for developing a cannabis use disorder, but also recognizes those at risk for experiencing other negative consequences from cannabis use. It provides brief education to combat misperceptions around cannabis use, in addition to connecting students with valuable resources to support healthy choices.
