ScreenU Marijuana

The rates of marijuana use among college students has continued to rise over the past decade.  Although still a relatively small percentage, the Monitoring the Future study reports that there are more college students use marijuana daily than those that drink alcohol daily.

Research suggests that marijuana has a negative impact on memory, attention, and learning, so it may be no surprise that students who use marijuana regularly are less likely to graduate than students who do not use marijuana.  Additionally, campuses continue to be challenged to address marijuana use among students, particularly in an environment where the laws around marijuana are ever changing.

ScreenU Marijuana identifies students who are not only at risk for developing a cannabis use disorder, but also recognizes those at risk for experiencing other negative consequences from marijuana use. It provides brief education to combat misperceptions around marijuana use, in addition to connecting students with valuable resources to support healthy choices.
