ScreenU Alcohol

Research suggests that alcohol and other drug misuse impacts students at a variety of levels, from academic failure to delayed advancement, due to injury or student conduct issues. Given alcohol’s detrimental effect on student performance, institutions strive to decrease high-risk drinking on campuses as a means of enhancing the quality of the learning environment for all students.

Students who misuse alcohol are not the only ones impacted but their use; their friends, families, classmates, residence hall staff, and beyond are also affected.  High risk alcohol use is linked to late night noise in the residence halls, campus safety issues like sexual violence, absent team participation in academic projects, and even disruptions in class by students who are sleeping through class because they are hung over. ScreenU Alcohol provides feedback to students about their own alcohol use and risk for experiencing negative consequences and links students to the resources and support needed to help them be successful academically and beyond.
